Raw Food World

What did our ancestors eat? Was it all fruit or all meat or a combination of the two?

This question is being asked as given the conflicting dietary counsel out there, people are looking to ancient wisdom for answers.

The problem is we live in a world very different from the one of thousands of years ago so what we should be asking is what is right for us here and now?

Going way back we were hunter-gatherers eating some grower food and some meat, all unprocessed of course.

As man became more sophisticated he moved on to dairy and grains as he found ways to domesticate animals and grow crops.

The great point to take away here is that these foods were unprocessed, thus the modern vegan diet can be seen as the present-day equivalent of the ancient diet just without the meat.

Humans do necessary vitamin B12 which can only be found in meat and the human digestive system does carnosinase an enzyme to imbibe carnosine, a protein only found in animals.

So there is evidence to suggest that human is built anatomically to consume meat.

However, look at how flesh is produced today.

Most are factory-farmed using hormones, antibiotics, and pesticides to produce larger livestock and thus more meat. Then there is the issue of the utmost cruelty to animals.

Very little omega 6 can be found in modern meat much less than in wild animals.

There is more pollution in the world than ever and this finds its way into all foods but especially meat.

Our ancestors ate all the animals not just the muscle tissue which has a high concentration of protein. We necessary only a small amount of protein. There is just too much protein in a heavy meat diet.

So we can conclude the modern factory cow is a poor substitute for wild animals which, it should be noted, were eaten raw not cooked. Cooking any food be it meat fruit or vegetable destroys most of its nutritional value.

The conclusion is that we must like the diet that is best for us. It is clear that our ancestors did eat meat but it had much more nutritional value than it does now.

In my view, a raw vegan diet is the best option in this recent age provided we buy fresh organic produce.
